Nebraska Chapter Handbell Musicians of America

Spring Ring Reading Session
For All Level Choirs and Individuals
February 15 and 16, 2020

Aurora, Kearney and Lincoln, NE

Soon the rush of Christmas plans, music and other commitments will be behind us and we will be thinking, What can we ring next?

One great event to be looking forward to will be the Area 8 Festival/Conference in Overland Park, KS happening June 18-20, 2020. Watch for registration to be opening soon. Get your hotel reservations in before the rooms fill up.

Your Nebraska board members are planning a great reading session for directors and ringers to prepare you for this event. We will be holding a half-day session in three locations in mid-February. The reading sessions will feature the Division, Massed music and YouthFest music to be prepared for the Festival/Conference. The music selections for Bronzefest will be available for you to view. All music at the event will be available for purchase when the session is over. Even if it is not in your plans to attend the Area 8 event, the reading session will still be a great way for you and your ringers to spend a few hours reading through some music that is likely new to you and might be something you want for your home choir.

The dates and locations for the sessions are
Aurora – Saturday, Feb 15, 1:00-5:00pm, Presbyterian United Church of Christ 930 K St. Aurora (North entrance, then downstairs)

Kearney – Saturday, Feb 15, 1:00-5:00pm, First Lutheran Church 3315 G Ave. Kearney

Lincoln – Sunday, Feb 16, 1:00-5:00pm, Holy Trinity Episcopal Church 6001 A St. Lincoln (South entrance doors)

You will need to bring the following items to the workshop:

  • Gloves, mallets and music notebooks/stands.
  • Bells, chimes and foam if you are bringing a full choir
  • Tables will be provided. Please let us know if you are bringing 5th octave bass bells

Other things you need to know:

  • Snack will be served at a break.
  • Childcare will not be provided, so please make other arrangements for your little ones.

Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first served basis and will be closed when capacity is reached. We reserve the right to cancel this event due to too few registrations or inclement weather. If one location has to be closed, another site may be an option for you to attend.
