The Nebraska Committee is pleased to offer their Spring Ring ’23 in Hastings, NE on March 24-25. Our clinician is Martha Matthews from Grand Rapids, MI. Martha has conducted the Kalamazoo Ringers with great acclaim and has many accolades from contemporaries in her work as a clinician.

Martha will lead a Director’s workshop on Friday evening, and direct the mass ringing event on Saturday. Saturday will include reading several selections of varying levels, and options to take two or three classes with Martha and members of the Nebraska Committee. As a ringer and handbell director, Martha incorporates the Laban method and is eager to share her insights on how this methodology leads to greater musical clarity and effect.

The Nebraska Spring Ring ’23 will be held at the PEACE Center located directly east of the First Presbyterian Church in Hastings. Once a middle school gymnasium and shop, the PEACE Center offers lots of space for mass ringing and classes. Additionally, the newly paved parking lot provides convenient access for moving and setting up equipment.

Please note that the Saturday event is a reading session from 8:30a to 4:00p. Packets of music are provided, and if so desired, selections can be purchased by attendees. Ringers must bring their own equipment (handbells, chimes, mallets, music folders and foam). Tables and chairs will be provided.

Costs for the event are: $40 for HMA members; $50 for non-HMA members; and $20 for students. “Orphan Ringers” will be placed with other groups when possible.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lunch, however, an option to purchase a deli lunch will be noted on the forthcoming registration form.
