Nebraska Handbell Musicians of America
Fall Read & Ring Session
Saturday, October 14, 2023
3 Locations!
1. Holy Trinity Episcopal Church 6001 A St. Lincoln
2. First Lutheran Church, 3315 G Avenue, Kearney
3. Scottsbluff site to be determined
Join the Nebraska HMA committee for a morning of warming up your ringing muscles and reading through some great music. The music will be varied and not too difficult, just the thing to give yourself and your choir an additional opportunity for sharpening reading and ringing skills and techniques. Planned repertoire includes original works, hymns, Christmas music and selections for the Area 8 Festival to be held next June.
Registration begins at 8:30am. We will begin our schedule for the day at 9:00am and end at approximately 12 noon.
You will need to bring the following items to the workshop:
· Gloves, as you will be ringing on borrowed bells
· A binder to prop up the music
· Polishing cloth, to shine up the bells when you are done
Other things you need to know:
· This is a morning reading session, not a full day commitment
· Childcare will not be provided, so please make other arrangements for your little ones.
· Music is borrowed. It CANNOT be written on or corners bent. It must be returned in original condition.
· Music will be available for purchase at the end of the session if you are interested.
Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first served basis and will be closed when capacity is reached. We reserve the right to cancel this event due to too few registrations or inclement weather. HMA members are individuals or ringers under a church, school or other group membership.
